PARTICIPANT REFLECTION
“I felt inspired by the interactive workshop conducted by Sudha Sunder, Staff development Co-ordinator at Universal American School in Dubai. Sudha was a very stimulating and energetic speaker. She talked about conceptual teaching, which I find very applicable in the learning and teaching process at MPA. The CIE and AP curriculum is mostly based on critical and practical thinking skills, which require students to have broad knowledge and application of the concept. She also spoke about the freedom that students need to expand and explore their thoughts in order to attain higher order thinking skills as stated in Bloom’s taxonomy. Her workshop meant a lot to me. I will try my level best to uplift student’s potential to that level where they can be independent learners. I am inspired to work on improving my teaching strategies and make them more practical based, so that I can transform my class to a “Thinking Classroom”
